For the past few weeks my generator light has been staying on for about 5 min after starting. It doesn't seem to make any difference how fast I'm driving. Today the battery was too flat to start the car, so I charged it and tried some of the tests from the Bentley manual. I couldn't do the no load test as when I disconnected the B+(51) terminal from the regulator, the car wouldn't start. Am I misreading the instructions or are they wrong. I have two wires connected to B+, which one should I disconnect or do I disconnect both from the regulator and join them together? The battery is fairly old, could this be contributing to the problem?
