RE: [T3] VIN

Thanks!

I am one more step closer to driving her!

Since I only have the history of the last two owners, it's great to be able
to learn more.

I met with the mechanic this afternoon-
The Flex Plate and gland nut are worn wrong-dowel holes are egg shaped and
the dowel pins are loose.

He has access to the parts he needs and will redrill holes for proper fit of
dowel pins etc...We are hopeful the torque converter is still good..I hope I
explained that ok..

If the torque converter is bad, I can't afford to continue. That will suck
mightily.

All these new words to play with

pardon the ramble, long day.

Dave Hall has a good explanation on this subject on his website and here is
the link.
http://www.hallvw.clara.co.uk/dating.htm

For what I see you have;

31(Fastback or Notchback)
9 (1969)
2 (Long Nose)
54799 (Model Year Serial Number)

Now beyond that I am sure either Dave, Keith or Jim will have a better
answer for you.

Thank You

David
67 Baltic Blue Fastback
