I remember reading somewhere that in the English MOT test oil leaks aren't a cause for failure. Is this true? I assume that if the car is gushing oil then it can't pass.

Over here I know people that have failed for oil leaks so they obviously do look for them. They certainly won't fail you here for imperfect foglight chrome though.
