<x-flowed>Wha...?  Tow it backwards?  That doesn't make sense and if the front 
wheels are turned -- which I'm sure they are as my '72 won't lock the 
steering unless the wheel is turned -- then it's gonna be very difficult 
to keep the nose of the car from wanting to take off in another direction.

Get it on a flat bed.  Use a come-along or winch to pull it onto the 
bed. If you can, put cardboard under the front tires if they are turned 
so the front will slide onto the bed.
