I agree on that sort of plug mileage.  Odd that VW recommend much more frequent
changes in our FI engines.
I did read bulletins that gave a CO of 0.7% for FI, and an adjusting value of 4%
for carbs, so maybe VW expected the leaner FI mixture would be harder on the
plugs.
