This happened to me last week and I took it to my mechanic and he adjusted the "Idle Valve"? It is a black box looking thing opposite of the throttle. I know terrible description. Not sure what you usually get for MPG. Are you running FI or carbs? -Kevin -----Original Message----- From: Jacob Schroeder [mailto:schroeder@purdue.edu] Subject: [T3] My Square has been acting up recently, but not all the time. Occasionally when I start my car, it'll idle very erratically. Sometimes it'll even die. I'm quite concerned as it made it all winter without any such problems, I would have thought she would have had more problems running in the winter. Anyways, when I start it up, I can hear it oscillate between a normal sounding RPM and a very low RPM, if I let it sit long enough, it will usually swing low enough that it will die. Also, I've noticed if I keep my foot on the gas I can keep the idle speed up, but if I just barely press on the gas, there's a point where I can cause it to die. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
