I'm sure I will receive criticisim from the group for replacing the FI for carbs. It will be welcome and appreciated. This is my first VW and restoration project, and I'm sure I will make mistakes along the way. With the exception of the paint job I want to do, or contribute a big part of, the work to restore my fastback. I'm sure I will ask this group a lot of questions, too. I'm not going to make a race car (hense the 34mm carbs) nor am I going to make her in to a show-winning car. But it will look like she's been well taken care of. Hopefully, I will be able to contribute my mistakes, lessons learned and successes to the group.
