<x-flowed>The first time I changed the fuel hoses on my car, I used German 
cloth-covered fuel hose that I bought from a garage that specialises in 
aircooled VWs.

Every single piece that I used cracked up and started leaking after 
about 18 months. If I had been driving the car it would most likely have 
gone up in smoke. I had to replace all of the fuel hoses again, this 
time with the type with the rubber on the outside. I just hope this 
lasts a bit longer.

Needless to say I won't be using the cloth covered stuff again.
