I removed the brake cylinders this weekend to find that in the years of sitting in the hot California summers, rubber parts on my car are dried out, broken, or missing. The lower front shock mounts rattle on the bolts, not the rubber to bolt connection, but the rubber to shock connection rattles. Any fix other than replacing the shocks? The rubber stops that limits how high the front end travels when the wheels are in the air are completely shot. Are there replacements available, and what are the properly called? Every bellows type cover I looked closely at was cracked, bummer. But I was able to remove the brake components with out much problem, other than to my back, ouch. VW on the front, Varga on the rear. Jeff '67 Sqbk - there are sure lots of places that the mud wasps found to build nests within the front end, including around the steering wheel shaft where it's exposed below the soft joint. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
