Time temp and fuel are all factors, and they don't all have to be present at the same time to age the rubber. The rubber is compounded to resist attack by the fuel, so this is generally a minor factor in a well designed hose. I HAVE had fuel hoses which made a poor choice for the outer jacket, however, so that a small leak caused really bad deterioration of the outer jacket. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
