YES, IT'S TRUE, THE 65 VARIANT IS UNDER RESTORATION. Some of you may remember the scuttle a month or two ago when I offered parts off of a 1965 Variant/Squareback that I was parting out. I was scorned, beaten, spat upon and taken to the woodshed for even thinking the thought of cutting up the poor dear...I believe some scathing remarkes even questioned my verility. But, it worked.... Last week my new mechanic got the V running after two and a half hours of work....some might remember the VW guru mechanic had the car for three weeks and was stumped. Know what...the engine had no ground...how did that get missed by the first guy? Hmmmmm. Anyhow, the engine is going to the bench this weekend for a thorough overhaul. Body and Paint starts next week. See the car at the Fort Wayne VW Club show in June 12th, http://www.oldfortvwclub.com/.
