If you did, and it didn't help, then try disconnecting the connecting rods and just run the bare motor. By connecting things up in stages you should be able to figure out where the drag is happening. It's also possible that something's not wired up right. Was your car always like this or did it just start suddenly, and on its own? (ie had you been working on something electrical just before this?)
