Thanks for this advice, I guess my battery needed replacement anyway as I noticed this occuring since I bought the car in June.

Right before I turned the old battery in as a core, it gave me 2v on the voltmeter. It still made my charger needle jump around though, on both the slow charge 2 amp setting and the 12 amp setting.

Has anyone else noticed that a lot of places don't punch out the month/year markings on batteries anymore? I think it's a scam because the batteries have a cast-in date that can pre-date the sale date by a few months. If you lose your reciept, they can screw you out of a few months of pro-ration.
