Re: [T3] dual port engine tin

<x-flowed>
I am doing the conversion of my '66 single port engine to dual port, and
have run into a problem.
The upper tin I am trying to use came from a FI engine. I ran into a
problem getting the tin plates that cover the spark plugs to clear the
manifold.
These are stock VW dual port manifolds and carbs. Were these plates
different on a carbed engine??

I did the same thing with Sophy's engine (dual port head upgrade with FI tin and stock dual carbs). The tin with the two holes for the spark plugs I was able to use with out a problem that I remember. However, I did need to make new piece of tin from sheet metal for the small close-out piece on the outside of the manifolds as the FI ones wouldn't work.

I am picking up a stock dual port/dual carbed Type 3 engine tomorrow in Toledo. I will check it out on there compared to the FI parts on Sophy.
