OK, you've convinced me. After Hershey I sell my Type 3s, projects, the sheds of parts, and try to look like a normal person again..... ;-) Dave. UK VW Type 3 & 4 Club http://www.hallvw.clara.co.uk/ ------ > > Except new cars heat up the cabin more quickly, have A/C, AM/FM radio > > (minimum, many come w/cassette), have more hp, don't need 3K mile valve > > adjustments, and parts are readily available. > > > ......left out, more fuel efficient, comfortable, and a lot quieter too! > hisham > 70 sq > Actually, mine starts heating up after a few hundred yards; has vent wings so doesn't need A/C in our climate; has a nicer sounding engine than the average AM/FM station or even tape/CD; who needs lots of HP - it just causes wheelspin in the wet; err, when did I do the valves last... - quality time activity helps bonding; doesn't need parts much, and anyway the shed is closer than the shops...; I get 34 mpg/UK gall which isn't much less than most similar size modern models and I don't have depreciation; if it was quieter, I'd have to fit a radio. ;-) Think I'll keep it after all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
