I have an idea that our '64 1500S came with Michelin SDS bias-ply (called cross-ply here in the UK), so it's not unreasonable to believe that Michelin 'X' would be supplied while they were the current tread style. Continentals would be another possibility I suppose. I never got near enough to a new 1970 Type 3 to remember the tyres. I don't know when Michelin ZX came out first - maybe mid-70s. Dave.
