I've finally looked at the'69 Fastback that was given to me by a woman at
Sac. Bug-o-Rama. It looks in decent shape, front is straight, back is good.
It's all painted in primer, so I'm not sure what the original color is. I
haven't been able to contact the person who's owns the property. Didn't want
to look inside of the car, and get some buckshot in my ass...
For those of you that don't remember my last post, a woman (girl, really)
came up to me at Bug-o-Rama and asked if our group was from Oregon. I
replied, "Yes", then she said that she had moved to California, but had a
'69 Fastback in Oregon at her aunt's house, and If I picked it up, I could
have it.
It's an automatic, and the engine is in pieces, so I'm not sure what is
wrong with it. Will need to investigate more. I've been looking for a '69
Fastback for a while. The price sure was right on this one.
Oh, I sold the '72 Fasty that I bought on eBay for $5. One of the guys in
our VW club bought it. He is planning on using a Type 4 motor in it. He owns
his own shop, so I think that it will be cool to see it put back together.
