Nowhere has the inner fender panels - well, maybe the DDB gang - but I have successfully used the forward section from the other side of a scrap Type 3 to repair this area. You get a piece which has the same profile where it joins the sound part, and has the square pressings to match towards the hood flange. I fthe pressing where the fuel filler goes through is bad, that would need to be formed, which makes that side a bit more difficult. Of course, for your high spec Type 3s that's all covered with lining, so I guess it doesn't matter how pretty the metal looks, but it is possible with care to do an invisible mend this way. If Hershey was over here, I'd bring along the bits to explain - maybe I could bring some photos and talk you through it. Dave.
