This is good thinking, as the Webers will not likely produce the same vacuum under the same conditions as the stock carbs. (It was my understanding that the Webers don't even have a vac port, which I gather is wrong.) Anyway to test, use a variable strobe to determine full advance with the vac hose off, then with the hose on. There should be a difference of something on the order of 3-7 degrees depending on your specific distributor. I'm no expert on automatics, but iirc there are other transmission system components that depend on vacuum as well.
