I missed the classic this year but I think that it was Bentley that had the booth you're talking about. They borrowed my '61 and '65 workshop manuals, along with another '65 manual from someone else. They are actually making their manual based on the '65 edition, but are going to include some of the '61 info and pages, such as early wiring diagrams, push button dash and 5 lug brake information. The last up-date I had from them is it should be a single manual, 1152 pages and as of May 19th, they were still planning to have COLOR wiring diagrams. I just e-mailed him for an update. I'll post again to the groups when I hear back from them. No one won them so I worked a deal online. I just recieved them and they are packed with tons of early info! Lots of weird early stuff with old and new parts pics side by side. New and old pics like pre vin#40,345 and after. Very cool. Its also got the early mid 63 shots of the first dual carb set-ups and some N and S stuff. If anyone ever needs early(61-65) technical info throw me a mail and Ill get some copies made. At the Classic, I think its Chilton had a booth set up. The same folks that polled us here on the forum and the list about 2 months ago. I dont know how many of you stopped but he did have the prototype done for their version of the manual done. Its pretty thick and when finished will go for $125 he suspected. Its got all the range info in it. Maybe someone can get an estimate from them for time to publish? Anyway its almost done and should be an excelent information source. late jason ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
