[T3] In or near San Francisco, seeking T3 clubs, mechanics with old VW/Porsche experience?

<x-flowed>I've recently moved back to San Francisco, CA, native city for myself 
and nearly so for my '68 Squareback (it was bought new by a family 
friend here).

I'm looking for any nearby clubs or owners groups to join, say within 
a half hour drive, and same distance for mechanics who know 
air-cooled drivetrains.

I need my transmission rebuilt; I have a '78 type IV bus motor and an 
early Porsche 911 five speed trans. I'd also love recommendations for 
any good ordinary VW mechanics in the city. Generally looking to get 
re-connected with a local VW scene; I've lived away 11 years.
