Hi Guys, Trying to replace my shift rod bushing...I've posted on this a couple times, and read some others of folks attempting/completing it. I've also done this on my bus...so I have some experience with the things. Problem-I've undone the coupling of the rod right near the tranny, the small screw with the pointed end.(side note: what size is that nut supposed to be, 9mm is too small and 10 mm too big, I needed to use a vise grip) I've begun sliding the shift rod forward, and when I get near the end of it I can't figure out how to get the rod all the way out. The end of the rod(closer to the rear of the squareback) has some connection/rotating piece that will not fit through the "gearshift rod guide". IT looks like a press on fitting. Any suggestions, I'd love to get this done in one day.... Thanks.... -kevin '65 kombi '71 sqbk somerville, ma ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
