RE: [t3] timing
<x-flowed> Ok you all have finnaly suitably concerned me. I set my timing by eye, it
runs fine, has survived
a few hundred mile trips and doesnt seem to run hot, or detonate or
anything, even dooes
good on gas, even the 87 crap gas i put in it. My buddy tweaked it a little
and put his timing light on it, but I think his timing light (really nice
snap on) is a sham. Well, the lights not, he is. I dont think he knows how
to use it and just put it on because im a stickler for #'s. (i make him do
my end plays too, it drives him nuts, hes a put it in and ride guy, im a
numbers guy, just one with no tools). The car runs fine but i always want to
know what the timing is at vs. what it should be. The motor I have is new
aftermarket, 009 dist in a 67 sqaure. the #'s on the post recently with the
timing marks dont apply to my case as its aftermarket new (i figure?). I
dont have a timing light. Im tired of relying on someone else so maybe ill
buy one. With a bug and degreed pulley I could use the light any of my
friends have, but no... Not in the t3, so i figure i need a nice snap on or
something gun that does the 'ill blink 32 degrees before tdc so it will
show up at tdc for you to see if its right' type gun. Anyone have any ideas
wht I should buy? Should I leave it the hell alone? Should i just drive it
till it dies? (its got about 2000 miles on it)
