Yes, I've noticed this with my wife's Fastback. It had a blue coil from the 
80's in it when I got it. I've since changed it to a black coil, and the 
pitting of the points decreased. I've been using it with my older 009, and it 
doesn't seem to pit as much. Weird.

I came across one of those a couple years back. I gave it to John J., since 
it was a 6 volt made in Germany Bosch blue coil. I figured he could use it as a 
spare. : )
