The major problem with leaving the car alone for the winter is the clock. It will slowly run the battery down, but this is not so important, if you have any kind of charger. The more important item is the fact that a car with an early clock (up thru '70) will run the battery down to the point where the battery can't cock the clock, then the clock contacts stay closed and cause the clock fuse to open. This can be fixed, but it is just one more annoying thing to discover when you try to get things running again in the spring. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
