Well, since I had a new Bosch volt.-reg. I installed it. Unfortunately it made no difference. The brushes are about even with the top of the holder. The generator failed the test above. The surface that the brushes touch (communicator?) looks pretty bad; so, I think I'm into replacing the generator or possibly an alternator conversion.
