One of our local old VW garages threw out Dozens of rims a few years ago... including a couple dozen of the original genuine BRM's. I knew nothing about them at the time but I remember him telling me that they were horribly unsafe design and cracked and broke often, I remember him showing me a couple of cracked ones. At least the sprintstars were steel!
