If you really want a fire extinguisher, then I'd recommend a CO2 one. A dry powder class 4 would be very slightly more effective, but they leave an awful mess behind. The most effective fire retardant is prevention. Check your fuel hoses and injectors regularly to make sure nothing's leaking.
