They may still be in business under the name Universal, but I'm not sure of that. At least the Delta CDIs were available as either a kit or factory wired. The quality was very good. They used the stock points, coil, cap, and rotor, and, if you wanted, you could replace the points with the Pertronix, etc. electronic versions. I found several of these old Delta CDIs at a swap meet last fall. I have to go thru them and find out which ones are good and fix the rest. Then I'll put the good ones up for sale. There were lots of DIY CDI projects out there. I'm pretty sure you could do a Google search and come up with at least one. -- ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
