I think it's fairly common to demand that vehicles in public view be licensed and at least appear to be "operative." Vehicles which are hidden in buildings or behind fences are usually exempt. If your property is hilly or wooded so that the cars aren't visible from any public property then you won't have a problem. I would expect some kind of notice in any case.
