Re: [T3] chrome trim strips

Yes, I use a small hammer using quick, sharp, soft blows, usually one will do
it. If the "peg" starts to bend, I remove the whole clip, and use another
one. I've had some that needed several taps though. Watch the sheet metal while
doing this, but don't be too scared that it flexes much. Make sure that it pops
back out, otherwise you've got a new dent. :(

No, the "peg" must seat flat against the clip. That "peg" locks the clip to
the car. If the "peg" isn't used, the trim will seperate from the body (clip
and all).

Puttimg the trim on before the "peg" is seated WILL damage the trim! Don't do
it this way!!

This means the hole is too small, and you need to adjust it a little. You
could probably use a small round file if you have one. Take your time with these
though, as you can damage / dent the body by forcing them.

Yes, you're on the right track here, the holes are too small requiring more
force than necessary. You need to adjust them first. I've found that if I have
a hard time getting the clip all the way into position, then the peg won't go
either. This is kind of a warning that the hole needs adjustment. Be careful
and don't damage the paint surronding the hole, or it will rust under the clip.
I hope this helps.
