I took the opportunity of nice weather yesterday and today to give the Square a little air and a pre-spring high-speed cleanout. Snow and salt are gone for the moment, but we're expecting more on Sunday... While I was pulling into a 7-11, I heard the guy in the car next to me mention to the woman who was driving, "wow... look at that old volvo!" It's not the first time I have heard that. When I had the engine out and was working in my in-laws driveway, some political folk walked up to talk to me and the guy asked me, "how old is that Volvo?" After which I pointed to the VOLKSWAGEN script on the hatch and said, "it's actually a Volkswagen." Then I told those right-wing wackos if they couldn't tell the difference between a Volvo and a Volkswagen there was no way I was voting for their candidate... (well ok, I didn't say that, but I was thinking it)... :) Anyone else ever run into this? I'd imagine it's more common with the Squarebacks... Something with the rounded, curvy lines maybe? ===== ----------------------------------------- Have you driven your Type 3 today? http://www.tiserves.com/VW/ ----------------------------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org
