Along the same lines (please don't kick me off the list for thinking
this) has anyone ever thought of adding a pop-top to their
squareback?

I've thought of (somebody else - never me) adding an early, small square bus poptop to their squareback...

I've also seen the canopy of a squareback grafted to the top of a bus around here (Berkeley, California)...
