<x-charset UTF-8>As to how they work, there is a water tank in the bottom, there are wicks that pick up the water via capillary action. The wicks have fresh external air forced thru them, which causes the water to evaporate from the wick, effectively cooling the interior air... works the same way sweating does. Problem is- it only works well in dry climates. A fan will help when you're in stop and go traffic, but won't make any difference for city driving. Hope that helps! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org </x-charset>
