I have the stock carbs on my '71 with the chokes disconnected, and it
runs fine after a few minutes of driving, and there isn't too much
difficulty starting it, although the coldest that car has ever been in
is only about -4 degrees C.
I find that the carb preheat makes a big difference though, which is
something that the webbers lack with after market air cleaners.
