Even if he couldn't fix it, he might be able to tell you what parts are actually needed. Local shops are never much help these days, because knowledge of these FI systems died long ago in those shops. This is likely the first such car that they've ever seen. Don't bother with the 009. It's a waste of money and the FI distributor is better anyway. Has this car run AT ALL recently? If not, there can be some major fuel system rust problems which would be hard to fix. Fixing the FI should be cheaper and faster, but only if you actually know what you're doing. Your shop is probably just throwing new parts at it in the hope that one of them will fix it. The problem is more likely to be a broken wire or something equally simple, but they don't know where to start looking. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
