The best place to ask this question is on the www.vwtype3.org list.  I 
will forward your message to the list.  You think about 
subscribing....great group of enthusiasts with a wealth of knowledge 
about the Type 3.  There are even a few folks living in Germany on the 
List....some in the same situation as you.  Good luck with your 
project.  I am sure the List would be interested in hearing more about 
your car.....Notches with Automatics are fairly rare, as are Automatics 
with factory dual carbs.

Anyone on the List that can help Rick out with a source for parts in 
Germany?  P-mail him since he is not on the List.....yet. <G>
