I can certainly believe this.  The cars I knew were all older at the time
and always broken down and cobbed togeather, nobody ever got thier engine to
last long... but the same situation happened with Bugs which were improperly
maintained.

I knew they made a Greenbrier van with the corvair engine... but the salt
here quickly turned them into the "Flintstone van"
