I used to have that problem when I would take the shifter plate off and put it back on. You really need to fiddle with it sometimes to get it right. Lining up the two bolts and the plate. also, this sounds silly, but make sure you put the plate on right way forward. My .02 Why does my reply to sometimes go directly to the person, instead of the list?
