Exactly what broke on the door handle? Beetle door handles are identical and you can easily swap the lock cylinders and actuating pins so that everything works normally after the replacement. I also have type 3 handles and pins here, and I can swap cylinders and re-key them to match your key if you need that. Look in the door jamb, just above the door latch. There should be a small hole, possibly with a white plastic plug still in it. Remove the plastic plug and dribble some light oil in that hole. Then replace the plug. > Also, now that the release cable on my hood broke-how do I open my hood? If the break is under the dash, then you should be able to get to it and release it. Otherwise you've got a treat ahead of you. This should be a warning to everyone. Your cable release should work EASILY. If it doesn't, find the problem and fix it NOW. The alternative is much worse. -- Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
