GaryG=> Can the tin be patched with some substance? I only => have dime-to-quarter size holes. A quarter-sized hole is pretty large in this area. I don't think I'd recommend trying to goop the holes up with something, too much heat, vibration and oil down there. As a temporary measure, heavy-duty aluminum foil wrapped around the exchangers might get you through the winter. In your place I'd probably go for welding in additional tin that both patches and reinforces the assembly, unless you really don't have enough left to patch, in which case you'll be into fabricating entirely new cases. It might be a lot simpler to find a better pair of exchangers, though, depending on where you live.
