That document is the original German title for the car. Titles are handled a little different than in the US. They get created when the car is being produced at the factory and they stay with the car its whole life. Interesting side note: The corner has beeen cut off for a reason. That's the official way to mark a title as invalidated.


The date on the one page does not necessarily imply a birthdate, I'm not sure how early or how late in the production process the titles were issued. Birthdate for Karmann Ghias is a little harder to determine, anyway, since they went through two factories ;)
