OK Thanks Jim. I will give it a try. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Adney [mailto:jadney@vwtype3.org] Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 2004 11:09 AM To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: [T3] Try this again. You should make sure that your cold start valve is not kicking in, which it should not at your temps; you could just disconnect the electrical plug to it to make sure. On some of my cars I have found that they just get a bit too much fuel on startup and need to be run down the block to clear it out. If you speed up a bit and then let off completely on the throttle the FI will cut off the fuel completely, which will clear any excess gas out of the engine and then things will come back nicely. If this still isn't good enough, there is a wire from the starter solenoid to the brain that you can disconnect; then you'll get minimal starting enrichment. This MIGHT make it a bit hard to start in cooler weather, but you probably never get cold enough where you are for this to arise. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list | mailto:gregm@vwtype3.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~ Shameless link for search engines: http://listarchive.type3.org ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
