[T3] Notch update
<x-flowed>Hi guys
Well, we have made some more positive progress this weekend. We
removed sections of the old manual pan and began to weld them into
the new pan. As you recall, the old pan was from a manual
transmission and the new is from an automatic. So I cut away a
section of the old pan at the rear to weld it into the new one. And
then I cut the section of the tunnel from around the shift location
and we will weld that into the new one. I have removed the shift rod
and the tube in which the clutch cable slides and it will be easy to
fit into the new one. By the way, the official VW manual gives
detailed instructions on how to remove and replace this rod. All in
all, this has not been as challenging as I first thought. So we are
off for some much needed holiday and need to mvoe the new pan and
suspension back up the alley. For those interested, of course, I have
some photos.
