I'm not sure, but the early tie rod ends may not have the same threads into the 
tie rod, so this may not solve your problem.

You must have a '67 or earlier beam on there. There are several good reasons to 
try to find a correct front axle beam for your car: The axle stube got thicker 
and stronger in mid '68, and the brake calipers got larger (requiring different 
steering knuckles) in very late '71.

There is a '72 front axle beam in the grass outside my garage right now....
