I am trying to cure a hesitation problem on the left carburetor of my fasty, I already rebuild both carburetors and although it is better than before it is still not fully cooperating. Here are the symptoms; 1. Slight hesitation from idle to acceleration (L carb only). 2. Almost no change when trying to adjust the air/fuel adjusting screw (L carb only). 3. Left intake manifold felt cooler at operating temp than the Right. I took the L carb out and took the top off again and saw brownish residue in the bowl area. I ran some pressurized cleaner through all the ports and the only one I could not get a steady clean stream was in the lower suction ball valve. It is represented by figure number 26 on page 5 of the cut-aways that Russ posted (Thanks Russ :]). I have not tried to force any air through there yet since I was not sure of where that port went to this morning 0630 while I was disassembling the components. I guess I will try this next since as far as I can tell it wont hurt anything as long as I don't go overboard with the air pressure. On another note my (oil light) issue I was able take the L tin out since the carb was out also and I have the oil cooler out to clean it again and install foam that was missing. I was able to look at the left cooling flap with my engine cold and it was partially open, more than what I had set it before which leads me to believe that my thermostat might be working. At what temperature is it suppost to open? I know this morning was around 60 degrees.
