[T3] Leak
<x-flowed>Hi all,
All in all, I drove my car about 130km today to the test and back. Most
of it was fast driving on a motorway. On the way back I was going most
of the way at 100-110 kph, now that the brakes are fixed, I thought I
could put my foot down a little more than yesterday. I doubt if I'll
ever try to go faster than that.
Anyway, when I got home, I could see drops of something leaking from the
area between the engine and the tranny. Until now I haven't been able to
get the whole thing up to operating temperature and keep it there for a
while, so I think some of it may have been molten crud falling off.
Although I can't tell what colour it is (it soaked into the ground), it
does have that "gear oil" smell, but I can't tell if it's ATF or GL5.
What is it likely to be? This car is never going to see heavy use;
should I just check the levels and fill it up when it gets low, or is it
crucial that I get it fixed? It's a pity its such a PITA to check and
fill the GL5.
Daniel
