hello all, Thank your for the quick responses to my original question, but I think that my question got a little misunderstood; let me try to be clearer here. I asked about this since I am thinking about putting on rear disc brakes on the square when I get to it. I have thought long and hard about it but my reasons are more for safety than for "bragging rites" since I will be using the stock motor once I rebuild it. When I had my 1302 beetle the dang thing had drum brakes on all four corners and I absolutely hated them. Adaquate yes, antiquated, you better believe it. As time went by and I eventually went through a few cars over the years and one of them was an suv with disc brakes on all four wheels. I tell you I had never felt safer in my entire life than when I had that. Now my brother's new beetle has disc brakes on all four wheels, and believe me, you stop when that pedal is pressed on. I desire the same effect for my square, or at least as close as I can get to it where the technology is in that car. I personally feel that stopping is far more important that moving. To that end was the main reason for asking what everyone thought about it. Another thought that no one really answered was if the cb performance rear discs fits onto our cars. I was hoping that someone on this list has done this so that I could ask for some do/don'ts with this procedure. They say it'll fit onto any irs setup but that is usually meaning the beetle since that car has all of its parts still on the shelf for most years. Still though, thanks for the comments on this. I absolutely love this list when it comes to info. :-) dennis perusse mach01913@yahoo.com 1973 squareback (work in progress) __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
