The 65 Variant Restoration is going well. We received a cache of salvage parts from Martin at The DDB today...thanks Martin! No paint...has been bead/sand blasted and only one coat of paint was present. The roof only had one tiny ding...like from a stone...no other damage or repairs in 39 years. Going over with the DA, metal etching and epoxy priming all areas not being repaired to prevent oxidation. HERE'S THE QUESTION...PLEASE HELP THIS NEWBY THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN AT THIS A WHILE! 1. The fan shroud had the remnants of a decal...what was that decal and where can I get a replacement. 2. There is a ghost of a number just under the decal area. If you look at it at an angle in bright light I can make out what I THINK is "M236726. What is this number and does that reading of this super faint image make sense? 3. Just under that number is a light and still readable "LO". What does this mean? I really need your help on this as I need to make the stencil to reapply these numbers before this and the other engine parts go to the powder coater. We plan to bring this car to Hershy...assuming we stay on track and keep making the progress we have.
