Re: [T3] Ventura
<x-flowed>Just taking a look at the generator, there is a Bug generator brush cover
over the opening where normal cooling air would exit. Makes me think that
whoever owned this before had no clue how the engine was cooled.
Russ, I can't tell if the inlet of the air filter assembly is actually
there. The shadows are blocking it too much. But taking a closer look at
the engine bay I see the rear upper engine mount and the cooling air inlet
bellows clamp. This would make me believe that the engine bay body sheet
metal is actually from a Type 3. If that were the case then that would
mean that there is probably an air cleaner fresh air feed from the cooling
air inlet plenum which sort of looks like it is fed from the black screened
inlets that are behind the door windows.
Looking at the hinges on the hood they really look like a set of Type3 hood
hinges.
I can't tell if there was any previous body damage from the photos but it
looks to me like they had an Earl Scheib $199.95 special paint job sprayed
on it just so they could sell it on epay. The striker post in the door
jamb has been completely painted (so much for the rubber piece that's in
there) and the latch mechanism in the door also has been completely
sprayed. I guess they didn't bother with paying the extra money for a
decent mask job.
All of you great Type 3 people have a wonderful weekend.
